:D No but seriously I've been there with an NA car trying to get power and its an uphill struggle unless you got serious resources and cash beyond the usual filter/exhaust blah blah. Go NOS for a quick fix everynow and then or make do I'd say.... all IMHO.

Good advice and even with nos you will be tired of filling the bottle, go for a turbo kit or sell up and buy a tt, I've been there too

Fit Nos and then try to get insurance ?? dont think many insurance comps will quote you from what ive heard.

Afraid the best mod is to buy a mkiv with a turbo or turbo's :D

No insurance company will insure you with N2o, unless its a very privalleged and very expensive policy, but no mainstream companies will touch you.......

More power, I know its something you dont want to hear after only just getting your car, but its sell up and get a TT.......... :nos:

When mine was n/a i had both cats removed, hks filter with custom heat shield, custom intake pipe which got rid of the 2 silencer boxes in the stock setup, uprated fuel lines and high flow fuel filter and removed the viscous fan and replaced with a electric one.

All this made a big difference imo to the cars performance but dont be expectting mega power gains from it. As much as people suggest buying a tt i actually like my n/a motor wich is why i kept mine and have just fitted a turbo to it.

So those two boxes in the intake are purely for silencing? Does it make any difference removing them and does anyone make a nice shiney intake pipe for an NA? What's the best filter for an NA? Will it still pass emissions with both cats gone? Where can i get an electic fan to replace the stock belt driven one? Lot of questions i know;)

The n/a is not the car to try and get more power out of. Personally if I had an n/a you have to see if for what it is..... a great looking car with reasonable performance. I'd keep the engine standard and spend your money on bling and gadgets and making it look awesome.

If you want serious power then find a TT.

(or find the wedge to do a n/a-t conversion. They are becoming a bit more commonplace now)
