Servicing: Pads, Plugs, Oils & Discs etc

Time for a reasonable service again.
Heres my list, which if anyone wants to add anything please do, especially on the ease of replacing the Gear Box & LSD Oil as well as range of Plug, thank you

GEAR BOX OIL
Toyota V160 08885-01306
Is this an easy job for a garage? I was going to get this done by my local.

LSD OIL
Toyota 75w90

PLUGS
I’ve always had NGK Iridium BKR6EIX.
I didn’t know if BKR7EIX would be better suited to a BPU setup (only running 0.9bar)?

DISCS
Opting for the DBA 4000 again which seem to be reasonably robust.

PADS
I had CW Fast Road pads which seemed to be upto the job? Does anyone have any other recommendations please?
I assume I wont need replacing the shim kit? Its now 5 years old but I haven’t had a look at anything yet.

BRAKE FLUID
ATE (Continental) Super R Blue Dot 4. Dry280/Wet198
Going with this one because its easy to get hold of and seems very good spec.
Had Motul Racing in the past and haven’t noticed any difference.

OIL
Valvoline VR1 5w50

OIL FILTER
The larger Toyota T90915-20004
Drain Plug Toyota T90080-43037 (different number to our Service section?)

FUEL FILTER
Toyota 23300-49195

COOLANT
Toyota Pink 08889-80072

SPARK PLUG LEAD SET
Toyota 90919-21521

Thank you;)

I don't see anything wrong with your choices there apart from the spark plug lead set. Does the VVTi have leads? I know the pre-VVTi TT doesn't and as far as I was aware the only MKIV's with spark plug leads were the NA's.

As for the oils they are easily changed by any competent garage\mechanic.

As for your spark plugs you could go with either, but i'd say if you have heat range 6 and have no issues, stick with them.

Hi Martin, and thanks.

I was quiclky looking around and found the part numbers for the HT leads, so just 'assumed' wrongly!!

I was kind of wondering whether, as yours is VVTi, if it had a combination of coils and HT leads.

I changed of some bits due to price/performance and availability.

Gulf Competition 5w-40 racing engine oil - better and cheaper!

Fuchs TITAN ATF 4400 Transmission Fluid - Good stuff and V160 no longer made.

Gulf Competition Racing Oil 75w-90 LS - Good stuff.
