Ohh the wee latch that opens up the console cubby hole

From your pic it looked like a large part. In that case yes it does have a little movement

Yes Kev it does move about and can rattle, about a quarter of a centimeter in play before it starts to move the catch I've got 2 (not both in the car, of course) and they are both the same.

I'd suggest try and pad it with a bit of felt like the dash panels are if it is vibrating that much.
That could be quite difficult to do. I did have a good look when I took it apart.

Mine doesn't rattle, it also doesn't open stuck shut as i decided to lean on it whilst working inside the car, i will be replaciing it with a new one from mr T when i get the car back as my sunglasses and a bar of chocolate are in the glove box

Sorry not thats much help Kev, but if you haven't found the answer by the time i get a new one i'll let you know if a new one has any play.

Are you sure it's not the hole in the box that has worn Kev. Might be an easier fix if it is i.e. new or bigger stops on the lid to lift it slightly or maybe doing this would tighten up the catch?
By the way mine doesn't rattle so if you fancy a straight swap, Think you'd look much better in a Black N/A

I'm pretty sure it's the actual opening part. It still rattled when I stripped it down.
That's a very tempting offer Paul, I'll get back to you on that one
