First post from a Swede in need of some help.
Does any of you know someone at Toyota in England that can help me to issue a certificate on my car. Just bought myself a J-spec from a guy in England and when trying to registrate it in Sweden our "DVLA" claims that they need a spec. sheet with the following info; Displacement, curbweight, measurements, chassis number etc. So, can anyone help a poor Swede! |

I've usually found Toyota's customer service people pretty helpful.
It may be a good idea to right to them specifying exactly what you need, as over the phone things can get forgotten not written down correctly etc. Their head office in the UK is Toyota GB Great Burgh Burgh Heath Epsom Surrey ENGLAND KT18 5UX Address it to the Customer Services Dept. You will have to at least supply your chassis number as i don't think they'd be able to help much. Not sure why your asking for this as its stamped on the VIN plate. Also if its a Jap spec car they may not be too willing to help, but worth a try.

Hi Martin,
I have the chassis number of course but it has to be on the certificate as well. I?ve send out a couple of emails to different Toyota dealers to see if any of them have a good connection. |

Was the car ever registered in the UK. If the car was registered in the UK then it would have needed a Japeneese De-registration certificate. This should be held on record by the DVLA in Swansea. This would have had all the relevant details (in Japenese with an english translation). This de-registration cert should have come with the car from Japan.

I think contacting the DVLA is your ouly course of action. You may also need to get a de-registration document from the DVLA. Your "DVLA" may need this to ensure that your car is not stolen.
