Thanks all. The wheels do seem in quite good condition although the n's ones are not as lean as the o/s. Some idiot has taken a brillo pad to the polished edge in a few of places.
I had to change the tyres though, and expense I didn't intend to have. The car had 8" fronts and 10" rear, and 225/45/18 tyres all round. It looked like it had been lowered because of the proximity of the tyre to the wheel arch. I ended up with 225/40 front and 255/35 rear - which now look right. They are only budget tyres, but this will do for the limited use/performance I will have for the car. A local company did me a good deal - and took the existing (nearly new) tyres as part-ex. The paintwork is a bit tatty in places, although it looks good when washed. I suspect the picture in sunlight is a bit flattering and represents the car as a bit better than it really is. |

Indicators look miles better. What else do you have in mind to change?
Have you had a look at the possibility of removing the bumper strips withought causing damage? |

Nice looking car Martin, i like the wheels, i'm so glad you've ditched the 'womens' porker (or had it confiscated) a soop is far more you.
Have you ordered any new seats yet Perhaps if you sold the bike you could do a single conversion then give it to Adam for is 17th birthday present

Thanks Gaz, I'll try and make sure Adam doesn't get that idea into his head ! can you imaging the insurance ?
I'm sorry - but the bike is definately here to stay. My NA Soop might not be the fastest thing around, but the Rocket - well ! Have you seen how they are made ? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKEuzxC4eGc |

Gambit, I'm a bit sqeamish about removing the bumper strips. When I had the headlights out doing the indicators I had a look inside the bumber - and they are not fixed or bolted through. Sods law tells me that when I try to peel them off, the paint will come off with them though.
I'm going to leave it for now, and do it when I can get the paintwork sorted at the sametime. |
