what should the tension on the throttle cable be like? mine seems a bit slack, see pics if it helps.. is there a way to adjust it myself? or does it have to be specially set ? by someone who will overcharge me?? are you reading this mr T?? cheers for any advice..

It doesn't really need to be that tight and from the amount of slack i can judge from your pics i'd say its about right.

There is a page in the manual which describes measuring the free-play on the accelerator pedal and adjusting this cable accordingly, but it doesn't seem to be online anywhere.

Have you noticed any excessive freeplay in your accelerator pedal?

i cant say i have ,i may need to get a second body to press the pedal while i have a look underneath.. also under the pedal is a round object which i can press in and out also the pedal can be pressed onto it it just feels weird of course not being a long term soop driver it may just be perfectly normal, but i have to find out somehow.. also i havent got a manual, tried one of those cd rom types you see on e-bay hasnt arrived yet.. 2 weeks late..

No, you need to be lifting the pedal up to check for freeplay

The round object you are talking about is the kickdown switch for the auto box.
