boost controller good or bad

would i benifit from a boost controller in my car and what difference will it make pls.second q where is the nearest rolling road to me pls as i want to find out what my car bhp is

What is it you are looking to do?
If it is for more power then the first step if you are standard TT is to remove the 2nd and maybe the 1st CAT as these are restricting the turbos. Make sure you place a restrictor ring after the 2nd cat to limit the boost. For a Jap spec car the generally accepted maximum is 1.2Bar (17psi) However at this pressure the stock turbo's will be operating outside their efficiency ranges. 0.9-1.1 is the norm.

This is the easiest way to gain power if you are standard.

You will also need a fuel cut defender as this is set to cut at 1 bar.

Boost controllers, as the name suggests only control boost, they dont raise it.
You would use a boost controller if removed both CATs, then you need to limit it – but that is what the restrictor ring does which is far cheaper, BUT a boost controller would maintain 1bar whereas a restrictor just restricts the exhaust gas flow and so in colder weather the boost can/will increase.

I personally would also recommend a boost gauge to monitor the boost and maybe an Exhaust Gas Temperature gauge which would also help monitor things.

Whilst increasing the boost this will strain other parts of the car.
What condition is your intercooler in?
Are your brakes ok?

As has been mentioned, just turning up the boost without supporting mods can lead to problems, worse scenario being your turbo's or engine going bang.
It generally accepted that the BPU (basic performance upgrade) which consists of decats, restrictor ring on J-specs, fuel cut defender, colder spark plugs will achieve between 340-400BHP at 1.1-1.2bar depending on engine/intercooler condition etc.
Where as you may not notice much improvement in 0-60, the mid range power will be significantly better.
You get a noticeable surge at 4000RPM when the second turbo comes on line.
It is worth noting that most people like to replace there ageing fuel pumps with a new one just to be belt & braces as fuel running lean at higher boost levels is a sure way to end your day badly.
