Default AIR CON Died.

I dont get any cool air whatsoever, but I used to not long ago and has also been very good.

The compressor kicks in, but I also get a hissing noise from the passenger foot well.
Would this suggest a major leak?

I looked at the diagnostics and I get a flashing DEF light pointing to the Solar Sensor, although would the air con still work to some degree even if this sensor fails?

Regards
Stephen

Something i've gained a little knowledge on recently.

If the compressor is kicking in you have pressure in the system. Did you check this visually?

The solar sensor normally fails the diagnostics test unless you are parked in bright sunlight.

Does the car blow hot air, and cold air from outside, i.e. not aircon cold air ?

It could be a flap issue.

Yes i checked it visually, all works fine.
The cabin temp is the same as outside as far as i can tell.
I didnt try it hotter.

I havent looked at the flaps yet to make sure its moving.

Spoke to someone and said also that if theres gas the compressor will kick in, but the amount could still be very low. This he said can also be the case with the hissy noise.
I'll take it in for someone to take a look.
