Mine is now back the way it was, (slightly noisey on the way up).
The problem I had was once again caused by me When I had both sides painted I removed the door card and had to remove the speaker section and the sound deadening from behind it to get to the nuts retaining the wing mirror. I obviously didn't put the deadening back very well and it had been grabbed by the window.
I will have a go at overhauling it when the weather get's a bit kinder.
Can you physically assist your window up? I think I'd do that for the moment try physically pulling it while pressing the switch with the door open.

No I tried assisting it up when the switch was pressed but as soon as let go it just drops again, have had to keep it up by folding the inner window rubbers in to hold it. Will have to take the door card off at the weekend and have a closer look. Is there a chance its just come loose from the motor system?
