Window motor
My window is slow going up and down and makes funny noises, the other day I wound it down and it stuck part way for a second and sounded like the window was going to explode.
Can these be overhauled? |

It's most likely not the motor, it's probably the regulator or the cable. You need to take the door card off and have a look.

Well if you take a look and it's not repairable then let me know which side it is as I have a spare motor and mechanism in the loft, but not sure which side I have.

apart from the window motor the rest of the car is pretty much the way I want it, I've had it resprayed down both sides getting rid of the door bump strips and matching the paint, the ic is now working and drives well and I have glass lamps and no yellow.
Just the motor and an annoying rattle from the boot to sort and I honestly can't think of anything else I want to do...... Hopefully I'll give it a wash tomorrow and slap some pictures up.

I'm having this exact same problem except mine won't move up or down now and its about 1cm from the top! Makes a horrible churning noise.
Did you solve the problem? |
