Default Another de-cat question

I've recently had the second cat taken out of my j spec tt, an think i hit fuel cut the other night. The car lost power for a split second when i was giving it the berries, an its the first time its done it. Its got a speed limit defender, so it was'nt that. Have any of u guys had experiance of this on ur j specs with just the second cat removed ?.

You got a boost gauge mate? what boost is it running at?

i dont think that fuel cut comes in till 1.0 bar, not sure if youll hit this with only the 2d cat removed.

Alright Rob, yeah i've got a greddy boost gauge, an when i've looked in the past, (before the de-cat) its been up around the 1 bar level. I didn't see what boost i was at the other night, but it was under load for about 5 or 6 seconds. I've got a trust fmic and oil cooler, hks induction, air filter, spitfire plugs and the de-cat's in a superdragger. Would any of these make any differance to what boost i'm getting ?.

yeah going off what youve said, i assume youre hitting fuel cut. i think it come on when youve held 1bar for about 5 seconds.

im in the process of decatting mine, i bought an FCD from Thor. just wires upto the ecu. looks simple enough, and it raises the fuel cut level, upto 1.4 bar i think.

just to let you know

i think my fcd irradicates it completly, cos its running at about 1.44-1.54 bar. and if a recall i think its a hks from whifbitz.

But best thing to do,... shop about. theres a few traders advatised on the site. give'em a tinkle see what they say.

I think its only the one from Thor that raises the fuel cut level, all the others get rid of it completely.

TDI said they could supply an fit an HKS fcd, an i've been happy with the other hks parts fitted, so i might go for this. From what i remember them sayin, it tricks the car into thinking that the level the car needs to get to, to reach fuel cut is never reached. Somthing to do with amps or volts, i think, though someone on here may no more, (or better). Just the second cat taken out seems to have caused fuel cut in a fair few cars on here, i'm glad you guys have had similar experiances, an shared them with me. I did worry it might be somthing more sinister. Cheers.
