Thumbs up J-Spec Headlights

I'm kicking myself for not trying this before JAE but I didn't get time and I should have done.

Anyone, tonight I was detailing the car and I looked at my rather faded, slightly yellow, not nice looking J-Spec headlights and I thought... "I really must invest in some UK-Spec one's because the one's I saw at JAE looked so much better". The standard cleaning for these is to completely dismantle them after heating them in an oven, clean and polish and then reassemble. This I truely cannot be bothered with at the moment.

Then I thought, lets see what we can do with some cutting polish.... So I got my bottle of Autoglym Paint Renovator out and used plenty of it on both. Took about 15 minutes to do the two of them.

The results were very good really. The yellowing must have mostly been on the outside because the cloth I was using was disgusting afterwards. (I stop polishing when the residue coming off stopped being dirty yellow and the plastic felt smooth again)

The lights look 100% better now. OK, they're not like brand new glass one's but I'm much happier with them.

I'd guess that T-Cut would work pretty much the same as it's about the same harshness as the AG Paint Renovator.

So all those out there with yellow, faded J-Spec lights. Do not dispair. Get some polish out and see if you can get them better.
