Back to the paintshop
Got a bit of tlc to do on my car this week, front bumper is coming off and im removing the awfull plastic shrink wrap and repainting it along with a couple of other jobs that need doing.
Afraid i managed to blow the 120 amp alt fuse a couple of days ago, shant say how i lost the traction control and overdrive but luckily it looks like apart from frying the head unit everythings ok now, im guessing thats probably an inbuilt fuse. Off to Mr T now to collect some bits, o/e equivalent Battery from Halfords £85 ! ive just paid £44 from Murley in Stratford !

I know that plastic covering was something I was considering after all the work on my car, but in the end I wasn't sure. Is it something that you wouldn't recommend?
I always point people towards Toyota for batteries as their prices are suprisingly reasonable and i'd be pretty confident that the quality will be as good if not better than a generic Halfrauds item. That fuse is not cheap from Toyota, I remember buying one for the MKIII.

Mine was called Venture Shield i think, i saw it at the NEC and it looked very impressive, afraid mine wasnt anywhere near as good and i didnt pay for it, on my experiance i couldnt recomend it but if fitted by the guy at the NEC then maybe. The fuse was about £13, if anyone blows one you cant just pull it out, you have to lift out the whole wiring block which means undoing 3 securing nuts then look underneath the 120 amp fuse as theres 2 10mm bolts that have to come out to remove the fuse.

Front wheels, arch liners, headlights, indicators, battery, side markers, maf, induction kit and fmic pipes are all off and the bumper is also ready to come off. Cleaned all the pipework and silicon hoses and was quite impressed that the insides were pretty clean with no trace of oil, inside the Apexi filter was immaculate so thats definetly doing a good job.

That'll look nice. Are you going to be powder coating them?

Thinking about doing all the bits youve done in chrome but in gloss black powdercoat, could look very cool with the out of fashion blue hoses lol

Change them for black ones and you're onto a winner. I have 2 black hoses left over you can have.
