Tuning the N/A engine...
HAs anyone considered individual throttle boddies on N/A supes??? does anyone know what kind of effect these will have and if there is a kit available or will i have to get one made especially (if i take this route)??
is this a good way of tuning the N/A?? i was thinking of full decat with throttleboddies and a good set of cams.. whats ppls views on this....

best to look on supraforums.com or .com.au ive got a log in for the .com.au site if you wanna pm me ill let you use it like save you signing up but it dont work on the .com site
i think this would be a very expensive option but it would give u a nice power increase if done right, also there is no sound like the sound of TB's dont let these fake power (yikes im gonna get shot here) turbo boys scare ya man if u wanna tune the NA you do it. id love to tune mine but i aint got the money

Tuning the NA engine is seen as a very poor return on investment predominantly due to the greater returns you get on the TT for the same money.
However you can perform some tuning on the NA, but you will always reach a point where if you want to go further you need to consider forced induction or Nitrous (sometimes seen as a type of forced induction). I honestly don't know whether individual throttle bodies would be a good route to go down with our cars. I suspect you may see some gains at certain RPM, but negligible ones at other points. There are no aftermarket kits that i know of, and probably the closest you will get fit wise to our cars is the ITB from a GTR.

Martin, On the GTR's there not ITB's as such just butterfly valves used to equal out the manifold pressure (or something like that trying to remember what my dad told me on the phone now)
Well having looked into this more and after speaking to a well known tuner i can say that ITB's with a decent set of cams should net gains of around +30bhp and +30ft/lbs of torque but at a cost of around £2000 to £2500, like martin said you get more bang for ya buck with a TT engine, so i dont think i will be going down this route,

Whack a couple of hamsters in each tyre - will probably double the BHP ;-) Just make sure they are all synced to run in the same direction.
