Aluminium would be nice.

I'm in Colchester but I'll pay for any postage and packaging. (And material costs obviously)

wow Flynn, your gonna be a busy man, my list looks like this.......

Re-spray, needs to be done this year before winter, got a horrible crease on drivers rear wheel arch and some paint bubbling.
Car Bra, I have to get one of these, cant afford to keep having the Bomex re-sprayed.
Front wheel allignement issue, needs to go to CW to see why my drivers side wheel sits about one inch further inside the wheel arch then the other depsite nothing being bent and everything looking ok/identical on both sides.
New exhaust, my HKS Hyper is coming to the end of its days soon, despite being welded in places due to hang arm snapping off, really want a Hyper Ti.
Alarm sensor holders, same as Flynn in car sensor holders have now broke both sides.
Gear stick rattle, planning to replace the gear stick in a hope that it stops.
Engine bling
Rear boot canopy thing
Route cold air ducting, from bellmouths at front to air filter/FMIC.
Box in air filter, with high quality air box and route in good air feeds.
Refurb glass headlights, as one side is dirty on the inside.

I suppose after that I would be at a happy point where I could ease off a little, the above things are things I want done asap, below would be pleasure providing nothing else in my life needs my money...

Single turbo conversion
Install some cabin entertainment, subs, ps2, tv screen etc...

Tell me about it mate.

She's none too happy now that I've broken the news that I need 4 new wheels. Off to the garage tomorrow morning for an assessment of the cost (and whether there's any suspension damage)

In honesty that list is only that long because I'm really really picky. There's actually very little that needs doing. She knows I'm paranoid about my car. She'd just ignore that list. (She just caught me cleaning my boot with a toothbrush!)

Oh dear I've done that too! (getting the dried wax out of the little cracks like in the washers)
I reckon every one has a list that long, it's just a case of save & do one at a time.

I can't help myself really. My job involves being ultra picky about details and getting things absolutely 100% right. So I find myself doing that with the car also.

I took the car to an accident repair specialist to get an idea of what can be done (as the insurance company asked me to do) and they reckoned the suspension looked ok. What I need to do is get the wheels sorted out and then have an alignment done to be sure that everything is set up right. So two birds with one stone really because I've always wanted the alignment done anyway. Just got to find those wheels now....

I really am that crap at these things that it's well worth me getting you guys to review a list of steps and this that can wrong first before attempting it.

the bit that would worry me the most from the lists you have compiled is the rusting back wheel arches, id get these seen to asap, i had this prob with all vauxhalls i had and never got them fixed properly, rem rust comes from the inside out so check deep down inside the rear arches just to see how bad it is, i put a panel bond on the inside of my arches as soon as i got it and hose the inner arches down every time i wash it, esp the lip, must say its worked a treat, i can honestly say there is not one spot of rust any where on my car, thank god!!!

Right everyone. Time to open the bubbly, pull a cracker or party til you puke.

And why the celebration?

I've removed something from my "to do" list!!!

Quote:
  • Alarm Mounting - I've broken one of the interior alarm sensors. I need to source and fit a new one. Just need the little plastic mounting bracket.
This is done now. I ordered two new mountings in the week, they came in yesterday and I've just fitted them. No longer will I have a little dangly thing in my vision all the time!

Much progress has been made this weekend...

I spent a very useful 4 hours at Martin F's house getting stuff sorted out. Big big thanks go to Martin for all his expertise and knowledge and also to Emma for putting up with me turning up and for supplying lunch and tea.

Here's the bits on my existing list which got done, or at least looked at: -

Electrical
  • Alarm LED Extension - The left-hand side of my dash has an LED in to indicate that the alarm is activated. Behind it the wire connecting to the LED is very short and it makes life awfully difficult when working behind the dash. It needs to have a connector put inline so that it can be disconnected.
  • FCD - I have one and MartinF is kindly fitting it soon. (I did originally have it fitted but it went wrong)
  • Turbo Timer - I have an HKS Type 1 (which reads in kph) which I'd like to fit.
  • Scotch Block in Boot - I found another dreaded scotch block in the boot for the fog light. It needs removing.
  • Clock - Mine doesn't work. It's also depressed into the dash a little. (Which is probably an indication that it's been messed around with in the past and not fitted back correctly)
  • Speakers - They don't really work. The whole installation needs looking at.

Wish List
  • Horn - My air horns sound like a loud cow farting. I'd like sensible ones. That way I could rip out all the extra wiring which has been added.
  • Boost Gauge - Two problems need addressing. First there is a tube relating to the boost gauge which runs near the accelerator pedal, and it sometimes slips and your foots catches on it. The loom plus this tube needs relocating upwards. Also, I have the worlds largest and badly placed boost gauge. It needs ripping out and one mounted on the a-pillar.

A few things got added to the list (and I'll get them up soon) but really today was a massive improvement.

Martin and I found lots of things today but the two weirdest were:

a. A strange hardwired phone device. (I have pictures and the closest to guess what it is can have it for free at JAE)
b. A switch....... which was hidden behind my dashboard.... and turns my horns from farting cows into a damn loud normal horn. (Am I a happy man? ..... Yeah baby!)

I shall update my "To Do" list and post a bit more detail tomorrow.
