Bit hard for me to tell whats going on with those threads and nuts etc, But basically each side should have a metal strip from top to bottom with threads sticking out that fits through the return flap on the edge of the bumper and into the body work of the car. ie. threads pointing towards the front of the car.

You then stick your hand up underneath the car (and IIRC the top one may have to be done from inside the trim panel in the rear hatch area) and put the nuts on and tighten down with ratchet.

This may help a bit.

My car is the same mate. People take stuff off, mess about with them and then try to put it back together. Problem is that they end up with a box of nuts and screws which they didn't need to put things back together.

I have an ongoing list of bolts which I know are missing and that I need to get hold off.

I had the same thing on my old FTO though. That had the whole front bumper held on with 2 bolts. Not good.
