Default Odd wiring.....

I pulled my instrument panels apart again today to tidy up Thors wiring (sorry chaps, your not quite as anal as me) and whilst trying to unhook the God awful clock (which has the most pathetic little wire in the world).... I snapped one of them, at the connector.

Oh well. Anyway, I've disconnected the clock for the time being while I see if I have the same connectors in my workplace..... Odd thing, I went to use the car tonight and it seems that, if the clocks not wired in, the internal light has no power???

I suppose it's done for a permanant power source.

Check that you haven't happened to blow a fuse in the kick panel. The wire may have shorted against something on its way out.

Is the contact still in the plastic housing and the wire broken off?

I've removed all the connectors and neatly taped them up seperatly.

I've just been out looking for a blown fuse but couldn't see anything wrong...
Which fuse would control the interior light, glovebox light and clock???

Everything else seems to work.

Any idea why they labelled it Dome.... Instead of something obvious like in/light or courtesy....?

I believe Dome is an old fashioned (or maybe American) name for the interior light.

There may be some spare fuses in the fuse box in the engine bay. Some cars have a few dummy positions in the fuse box for carrying spares and I can't remember 100% whether the Supra is one of them.

yes it is, but I'd used mine and not replaced them. Anyway sorted now.

All I need now is someone with an old wiring loom that they can cut the clock wire off.
