Default Radiator leaking

My radiator sprang a leak this morning and it looks like it needs replacing. Anyone got any thoughts on whether to go for OEM or aftermarket. And where I can get one cheapest?

OEM has the built in cooler IIRC, whereas aftermarket ones don't (feel free to correct where wrong). It's also a very good stock design that, unless you're putting out serious power, IMO doesn't need fixing.

As to where - the usual Toyota Dealers I suppose.

Can someone confirm that to fill the cooling system on an automatic TT I need 9.4 litres of Toyota Red coolant?

That makes sense.

I have one full 5 litre bottle at home, I'd just need to get another one.

Also, I'm going to need to top up my auto transmission fluid as well. (thanks for the heads-up Martin) I'm guessing that in removing the existing radiator that it'll basically be the same as doing a drain and refill on the auto box. According to the service manual that means I'll need 1.9 litres of ATF TYPE T-11.

Am I making the right assumptions?

No, you'll only loose a little (unless you decide to start the car up with the pipes disconnected). So i'd say 500ml may be enough but a litre would be better.

It wouldn't harm to do an auto fluid change at the same time anyway as I'm partially draining it. It's on my service list to do in the next few months anyway.

Same as Baz 2 x 5ltr bottles filled mine with left over and when I removed the stock rad I lost about an egg cup of auto fluid.

I was quoted £350 for a refurb stock rad at Toyota, but I bought a full alloy rad from Japan off Ebay for £270 which does have the auto fluid cooler.
