Hi everyone,

Yep I finally got myself and the car out from my *&^"&%$ and turned up to an event.

I've missed a good old banter about cars and the Xmas meal was a great opportunity to have a good chat. The topics of conversation were warmer than the meal ha ha!

I also admit to rather neglecting the forums for most of 2006 so I plan to change this for 2007. Early New Years resolution.

Back to the car....... I will take a little AVI movie file of it soon and post so you can all hear the V8 and see it drive. (Yep it really does move as well )

Before you read the official blurb does anyone have a W58 (Supra MkIV non turbo) gearbox they don't need for a while and also a V160? To borrow to measure and return. i.e. someone who is maybe rebuilding the engine and won't be needing the gearbox for a month?
With both these boxes we can design another covnersion to suit the manual MkIV non-turbo and turbo cars.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the official V8 Supra blurb......

THOR Racing have successfully mated the Lexus 4.0lt V8 engine into a MkIV JZA80 shell.
We have also recently made a manual gearbox conversion (as the V8 never came in manual, only auto) using the R154 gearbox from the MkIII Supra.

Here are some images of my Supra V8 conversion.

This car is being featured in the March edition of Japanese Performance (out in February)

We are offering this as a modification for Supra owners. We feel this is best suited to the non-turbo Supra owner who wants something a little different.

Lexus V8 Manual Gearbox Conversion: £1495+VAT
(Suitable for Lexus Soarer V8's as well)

For this you get everything from the crankshaft spigot bearing to the clutch cover.

All you need to supply is the 1UZ-FE (or 2/3UZ engines) automatic bell housing and the Toyota R154 manual gearbox (or Tremec TKO600).
Pedal box, clutch master cylinder and any gear lever repositioning is extra.

R154 Manual Gearbox Conversion Kit.
  1. Spigot Bearing
  2. Flywheel
  3. Flywheel Bolts
  4. Clutch Plate
  5. Clutch Cover
  6. Clutch Cover Bolts
  7. Transmission Adaptor Plate (THOR)
  8. Clutch release bearing assembly
  9. Clutch release bearing adaptor plate (THOR)
  10. Bolts for realease bearing adaptor p[late.
Nothing will be supplied seperately as we know 100% this kit works!
The clutch can handle anything the NA V8 can throw at it. Mine is at 250BHP at the wheels at present and about 240ft/lb (which is about 300BHP and 290 ft/lb at flywheel)

Yep thats the one Pete, seems N/A's are not built to go sideways, well at least thats what i've concluded as i've gone through 3x clutches, 2x boxes and a diff! Oh well its all good fun!
