Oil Leak!
I have an oil leak somewhere above the oil filter area – maybe a bit further forward.
Its not a major leak, but still a leak. Looks a right pain to get to what ever it is Any suggestions? Could this be an Oil Sensor seal and Crank seals? 7 years of trouble free use, so assume something’s got to give in a while…. Regards Stephen

You haven't topped up with oil recently and spilt some have you?
I had a leak in this area which was actually the o-ring between the oil cooler and the block. However I think there are a few possibilities like the oil pressure sensor and the cam covers. As you say it's a bit of PITA as you can't see things very easily.

Cheeky buggers I take it i'm in the right areas with the attached? 1. Oil Cooler Seal 2. Oil Pressure Sensor 3. Crank Shaft Front Oil Seal - is this too low? Also how about the Cam Shaft seals? Cheers Martin

Yep, although if it was the crank or cam shaft seals i'd expect a bit more oil right at the front of the engine and also you may be able to see some on the cam belt if you remove the spark plug cover.

I had a similar leak and it ended up being the rocker cover seals just needed tightening it went to the garage and they replaced them but he let slip that they rarely need replacing they just work loose took some time for the oil to stop but well worth checking if they r loose

Err, it was the rocker cover
Glad it was a cheap fix
