Rev drop.
Here we go again another drama with the car.
When the 2nd turbo is about to come online the revs drop from 4000rpm down to 3000rpm and the BOV sounds off then revs go back up again and then drop a little bit then goes fine till next gear and the same story over again. Any idea is going on there then |

If the revs are defenitely dropping then it sounds like your clutch is slipping

Don't be to quick to put your self down Martin as the latest news just in.
I just dropped maz and kids off at the ferry port and on the way back as i rejoined the motorway i built up speed and the revs went soaring up as if the car was netural. And i got the disgusting smell of burning clutch so kept it to 50mph till i got home. 1st gear judders as if it wants to stall which aint good on a hill start at lights with cars at the rear. I'm thinking my clutch plate is well and trully goosed. Any idea on how much cash this is going to set me back. Will i go to Mr.T. Or get an aftermarket one? |

Well if you think it is the clutch then try it a couple more times just to be sure, there are also inspection covers on the bell housing.
Which one you go for really depends on the ultimate goals of your car. However don't be too quick to dismiss the stock setup as it is very good. A mild upgrade is to go for one of the stock based clutches with a pressure plate where it has been fettled to give slightly increased pressure. Plenty of suppliers of this type, TRD, RPS, Chris Wilson, Exedy. Just be sure to budget on replacing the flywheel as well, as most of the time these are past their best as well and can't be re-surfaced easily.
