Well as I'm taking a trip to MR Wilson's with Barney on the weekend, I thought I had better mark and box everything up.

I also took a picture of the rear of the old Oil pump as it's as stained as the cam covers. I'm no expert but I'm sure it shouldn't look like this:

I also received my Alternator refurbished back from Envy, which I'd like to say done an excellent job.

Well he said it came up today, and that he is leaving early first thing in the morning, so if you do get chance to get to see him then let us know as I need to get my car back from him and dont fancy it being sat there till Tuesday next week.

Well I don't suppose he needs to be there if all I'm doing is dropping off parts, but would've been nice to see him.

I thought i should write about stripping the engine down. The first thing I done was strayed any nut and bolt that I could find with penatrating oil.

To start off with I enlisted the help of Gary (Mr Lover-top bloke) who had taken his intake manifold and turbo piepwork off before and so knew what he was doing.
The intake manifold and throttle body was fairly straightforward to remove, just need to make sure you remove all the nuts and know where all the pipework goes.

As for the turbo pipework, this started off easy and got alot harder
Removing the vacuum pipework was easy as you are able to get to all the nuts and bolts.
The real awkward bolts are the ones on the pipework that connect the intercooler to turbo number 2. The reason they are so hard is because the clutch res gets in the way. You can't get a socket set in there as there isn't enough room between the bolt and the fire wall, nor can you use a ratchet spanner as there isn't enough room to move the spanner. So what we ended up doing was, I went under the car, Gary passed the spanner down, I found the bolt held the spanner in place as Gary would turn the spanner. This was alot easier said than done as the spanner would slip off as you aren't able to hold the spanner sqare onto the bolt due to everything being in the way.

This took us about two and a half hours whioch I didn't think was too bad and with only one cut so far.

Over the next few days I would spray the nuts and bolts on the exhaust studs as they looked fairly stuck in place.

The turbos themselves weren't easy to remove with a lot of fiddling around. We opted for the option of removing the turbos as one complete unit along with the manifold. All in all it took my uncle and I about two and a half hours to remove them. As always the reason it took so long was due to some of the nut locations.
