Im always over estimating Jason
i guess we need to do some practical testing now weve got the ball rolling, we just need 600 bhp mkiv, timing gear and nice flat straight bit of rd (Bruntingthorpe) I'd be quite interested to know what a 400hp ish mkiv would do 0-100 in ? If stock is under 12secs then think 600hp has gotta be around 9secs and think 400hp is poss around mid 10's, i guess that there must be lots of mkiv tt's around that hp as its easily got to without major modding. Anyone got any timing gear ?

I thought stock was 12.3 or something, i'm sure it was 12. something for a stock car. I'd say for a 600bhp beast with good tyres, around 10 seconds i'd say.

An hour
Reckon we'd need it for a tad more me thinks We'd have to do a few runs to get an accurate average time

could be an idea to look at people's 1/4 mile times and speed traps figures? get an idea how quick a 0-100 time is going off how fast they were going when they finished the 1/4 mile?

For your info a ferrari modena 360 does it in 8.8 according to autocar. I think they quote the power about 420bhp with 275 (lame or what?) lbs/ft torque. It weighs approx 1350 from memory thats light as mine managed 1750 on a weighbridge!.
still would be interesting to see a variety of Supra's 400bhp up doing the 0-100 with the same guy driving each one.

Guess that's partly due to your sound proofing & ice. Don't forget everyone, the law of diminishing returns applies here - the time difference between going from 500->600bhp will be less than from 400->500bhp.

I have the feeling that the weighbridge is kept a bit game on the readout to prevent overloading fines. Seemed a bit high to me. I am certain I have not added much more than 50kg max. I had no ice fitted when the car was weighed, and sound deadening is only about 25kg.
June 1995 Toyota Supra catalogue states the weight @ 1620kg for a manual.
