Jap-Uk bonnet
I not sure if there is any drama with this, but to make things clear:- is there any difference or problem to fitting a UK- spec bonnet to a J-spec car?
Also if i were to be replacing it all together with an after market bonnet i.e... Top secret or Bomex what should i look out for or is there any complications i may come across ? Cheers Cass |

As far as I'm aware, the only difference between the UK/J-spec bonnets is the scoop, which you could retro fit like Gambit did. There shouldn't be any fitting issues.
Go with the scoop and don't bother with an after market bonnet

Are you saying you just missed out on buying the car (thought you had one sorted) or missed out on buying the bonnet?
Personally the vents would do my nut as it would ruin my engine bay with water marks, but that's just me

The one in the link is the one i had my eye on, but it was sold before i had my funds together The one i have half purchased is better
You know me mate i am always polishing engines etc.. (I think Matt's cleaning has rubbed off on me) so water marks would be fine to deal with All down to personal preference i suppose. |

I'd just like to point out that I've never in my life rubbed off on Cass.

There are def no problems fitting a UK scoop to a J-Spec bonnet. The UK scoop will foul on a TRD front strut brace unless you remove the rain guard thing underneath though

When you say rain guard, are you referring to the turbo cooler scoop on the underside of the bonnet scoop?

Yes that's what Jay is referring to. You can just mod the underside scoop if you don't want to remove it completely. This is what Sharpie done.

Its much easier to just remove it
Most fibreglass bonnets are shit so i wouldnt go that route, they flex and crack and also suffer with the high engine bay temps and most ive seen dont fit very well. Stock bonnet is the way to go and if you want vents get a proper bodyshop to cut them in
