Don't forget they will also add Track Insurance to your premium for a reasonable fee.

Only caveat is that the club must sanction the event as one that is professionally organised and that members are attending.

I know you said you hate Nos, but i have a Supra with a Nos kit fitted, but will never be used and to much hassle to remove all the pipe work and get it re mapped. I will have to declare it even though i will never use it, is there any way round this for insurance or is it a case of remove it all together?

Cheers Cass

You have guessed right Cass. Remove it or we can't insure it. I don't have that much knowledge of NOS instals but surely it is worth the hassle to get it taken out? And if you are using the vehicle now without NOS then you don't need a remap? What are you doing now insurance wise? We could always give you a quote on the basis it isnt there and you could compare with what you have now and see if it is a worthwhile saving.
Here to help if we can.

If the pipework is still there and the bottle removed would that count as "Removed"

At the moment i am only insuring my MR2, but that will be getting sold and the Supra coming out to play around August time. It is a J-Spec Auto Single turbo with a fairly high mod package.

I would be quite happy to get a quote from you Jason so i can see what i have to play with

I bet you can answer this without my help Cass............

NOPE.

Insurers aren't stupid, actually they are but on these sorts of things they are not at all trusting. Can you imagine of they accepted that youdidn'thave abottle in then you were not using it ever. I do think i might be able to think of a couplde of less thanhonest sould who might just might actually put a bottle in and use it even thoughthey had told the insurer they weren't!

There are folks out there who do cover NOS so don't let me tell you only to take it out. have a look around and see who will, give us a call and see how much without.

Good luck.

Jason

I've been speaking to Claire today regarding my insurance, and I'm really happy withe the quote I had from Livingstone's. Thank you Jason. The premium has gone down by over £80 and that's after I increased the BHP by 55 horses.

I have a question though Jason. I'm playing devil's avocate here, but lets say a member who has an agreed value on their car, mainly due to the fantastic condition, has an accident. Let's imagine a bump from behind. No where near enough to write the car off, however would this said person have any choice as to which bodyshop it would go to?
We all know there's good and there bad about, but I know a few of us would prefer it to go to somewhere like G&N in London, who have a fantastic reputation for their finish. Most of us wouldn't be happy with Joe Bloggs down the road.

Thanks for your time.
