Default Bonnet release issue

When I pull the bonnet release and let go it doesn't spring fully back into place only about 60%, I then have to reach behind and pull on the black cable to get it back in place.

I've noticed today that the passenger side of the bonnet is not fully down, I can push it down but when driven and stopped it's back up.

I'm guessing the cable is not moving freely up and down the blach sheath.

Any suggestions?

Sorry no, but the best spray lubricant i've every used it FASTLINE 500 (IIRC).
From Halfrauds or any decent push bike shop which is what it is intended for.

I'd go for this as well.

Check the splitter inbetween the two catches and try to get some lubricant down the sheaths. I've also seen frayed cables cause this problem.

Sheath going to the passenger side has split and rusted greased it for a temp fix and I bought a new cable today, sadly it comes as a complete so it looks like I'll be pulling the whole thing out. I could just use the little bit but as I've payed for it...
