Default Do these hybrids sound good??

Afternoon all..

currently looking at turbo options for my UK spec. After speaking to someone at turbo dynamics they reckon they can offer me stage 3 Ukspec Hybrids. The spec is as follows:

STAGE 3 - £595.00 each

MD315 High flow 60 Trim TB03 compressor wheel - CNC re-profiled compressor housing - modified bearing housing, left hand thread inconnel shaft & wheel with 10 degree cutback, staggered gap/ total seal turbine end piston ring fitted. Max recommended boost level 26-28 p.s.i. 380-400 bhp approx

They also do the options of:
1. Ported wastegate
2. Uprated large poppet valve
3. Twin seal turbine modification
4. Cut back turbine blades
5. Uprated actuators
6. Modified compressor inlet duct

What do you guys think about the about these??Has anyone had these or heard anything good/bad re:Turbo Dynamics.

Kindest Regards

Adz

Doesn't sound too bad for the spec and price. Will they offer any kind of warranty at all? Although claiming for this sort of thing under warranty can be a bit of a nightmare.

I wouldn't worry about any wastegate mods as the UK wastegates tend to be capable enough. It may be worth having upgraded actuators depending on what boost control systems you plan on using.

Have you managed to find anybody who has previously used Turbo Dynamics?

They come with a years warrenty or 10k miles (whichever is first), id never heard of them and dont know anyone whose used them.So im in two minds... Do hybrids really make much of a noticeable difference from stock turbos??

From a boost point of view im using an AVCR and SAFC for fueling.

Kind Regards

I've heard of them a few times, but never heard anything good or bad.

Hybrids, particularly stage 3, would make quite a bit of difference but you need to decide if that is your ultimate power goal. If you are likely to want more in the future then spending money on hybrids is a bit of a false economy.

Yeah its all about reliability for me too martin...im looking for around 550bhp and no more due to my autobox... Ive heard of stage 3's making this sort of power but I dont know whether anyone has ran them like this reliably...if i mhonest I dont know many people who have hybrids.

My other option is to get paul whiffin or PHR to set me up a kit, paul reckons he can do me an awesome 62mm kit for £3200 but then i need an oil cooler, larger injectors, ecu, etc etc. Its all money

I know theres no right decision but i dont wana be forking out again in the future....before all that though i need to get a compression/leak down test done!

regards

I think if I was in your position i'd go for a good set of used stock turbos get up and running and then go from there.

It's going to take quite a lot to get 550BHP out of any Hybrids.

Well yeah that was my plan but being uk spec they seem to be as obtainable as rocking horse poo, and Mr T wants a small fortune for a new pair...my other option is get a pair of US spec one off Ebay.com as I believe theyre the same as us specs...
