Only problem with that Martin is that by the time I've driven to Thor it's good and hot and running well.

I took it there not long back and left it all day to cool down but still Pete said it was perfectly fine.

I would suspect that if there is an issue with the speed sensors that the signal is probably not as it should be all the time.

It's just that when things are cold the signal is probably out of spec and then causes driveability issues.

It looks like something perhaps key's into that spindle inside.

Do you know if this is speed sensor 1 or 2 ?

Well having had a quick Google it seems that I have all of it, guess the cog is reusable.?.

Hmm, i've just checked the EPC and it looks like there should be a cog on the end

I suspect somebody has ordered it, used the cog (for some reason or another) and put the remainder on Ebay. In theory you should be able to take your old one out and transfer over the cog. Just make sure you inspect it to ensure it hasn't worn badly before transfering.
