I can't bring myself to install it in the car without having everything that connects to it either new or as new. And there's loads of bits which need cleaning. Lovin' it.
It's about time that I spent some money on my car. And to be honest what's making it possible is that fact that I'm doing the work myself. The garage that I normally use make it so painful to get the car to/from themselves that it's just not funny. And neither is the variable nature of the bill either.

Benefits of doing it yourself is you know what bits have been done right and what bits have been bodged and hidden.

Lol, I thought my m8 was the most picky and meticulous person I have ever met.
So I suppose the big question is; will you have the radiator in, in time for the Christmas meet? |

Good question Gambit as we all know Matt's new to this 'work on your car yourself' .

The job for today is to get a list together of the bits I need to replace (mainly rusty bolts) and produce the final list to order through Toyota (or wherever I can get the best deal) on Monday. The plan is to have the list done my Monday and also all the bits taken off cleaned by then also. Then early next week will be cleaning the engine bay up, I'll pick the parts up (or have them delivered by) Thursday and then put it all back together for COB Sunday. Once that's done I need to fully flush the coolant system, fill with coolant and then bleed the system. I'm also doing a transmission fluid change plus another couple of small bits whilst the car is up on axle stands. I would imagine it'll be back on the road in about a week and a half. I know that's a long time to change a radiator but I am only getting about 45 mins a day to work on it and I'm taking my time.
