1JZ water pump housing to rad hose seal help
Hi all
Got a 1jz engined project nearly ready for mapping, need to put the top rad hose metal pipe, back onto the waterpump housing. Its connected by the little metal joiner, and has 2 rubber O ring seals that sit in the connector. Ive check all my local hardware stores, and when the o ring is fitted it either slips in the hole pretty easy with no real force, or the next size up is savagely tight and wont go in unles there is extreme pressure to fit it. Went with the extreme option, got it in one end and its very tight, however it looks like the rubber seal is further in the housing in places which would suggest it has popped out the little O ring seats in the joiner. What have you guys used to seal them? will the seal sat how it is do the job or am i likely to get a leak from it? Driving me nuts now Thanks in advance for any help |

Can you not try the original seals from Toyota?

Yeah, because Toyota usually fit dodgy seals to their engines
So what did they suggest in its place?

Well I'm not sure how identical they are between the two engines but below is a pic of the same thing on the 2JZ engine.
The part number for the two o-rings (both the same part number) is 96761-24023. May be worth a try.
