Right. Still in the process of making my mind up what I'm going to do but things are getting much clearer now.

Here's the long and the short.....

1/ If I want a TT then I stick with my car and make it good.
2/ If I want a newer car then I flog the TT and get a 2000 NA.

Advantages of keeping my TT is that it's a known quantity with no surprises. Disadvantage is that I know what needs doing to it to make it the car I want it to be.

Advantages of getting the 2000 NA is that it's newer, it would be black and it's a clean slate.
Disadvantage is that it's not a TT.

If money was the only issue then it's probably cheaper to get my sorted and get a respray in black.

As some may have guessed there's some female influence going on here but I can't blame her for me not knowing what I want to do. My indecision is my own and I hold my hands up to that.

Here's what I'm going to do......

I'm going to get the brakes and suspension sorted on my car. I'd have to do this before selling anyway but more importantly I want to know what the car should always have felt like. After that work is done and I've lived with the changes for a while I shall revisit the question of my TTs long-term future. So for now my hard decision has turned into an affirmation that I'm going to get my TT's issues sorted out.

Good reasoning and I like your explanations.

+1. I have definitely learned that any car, no matter how new and seemingly immaculate will still have issues that will require work.

Far better to stick with a known car and get the satisfaction of seeing it come good.

Matt, pleased to hear you are sticking with your car at present, best of luck with the planned work.

the best solution as you clearly can't live without a Supra (which I'm sure most of us will admit to ). But the N/A is a terrible compromise - you'd kick yourself the step down in power.

There are many ways to reinvigorate your current car to the point that it may as well be completely new (if you've seen JustForFun's thread on SF.com - he has COMPLETELY restored his TT in Sweden, down to new nuts and bolts) all depending on your eye for details and bank account.

However, this will require a daily runabout (if you don't already have one) - something small, possibly scratched and/or bent slightly, with an economical motor - not only for those inevitable times when your car is in a workshop, but to keep the Supra as fresh and clean as possible. It'll also save a bit of money on registration, insurance and fuel - and the added bonus of being so crap and slow that every time you drive the Supra it will feel like a rocketship.

Good luck
Andrew
