Sold my Supra
Sad to see it go but I took a deposit for the sale of my Supra on saturday, just waiting for the paperwork for the new number plate as I have a personalised one.
DVLA take forever, they can put the number plate on a car straight away but when they want to take it off it takes them 5-7 working days. Then the new log book doesn't come through until another week or so after that. Sale can't go through til then but thankfully the man buying the car is willing to wait. Looking at getting a 04Reg Seat Leon Cupra TDI 150 as a replacement anyone had one of these before? Any good or bad points? They cheap to insure for me and to run so hopefully have myself a house soon. |

Guess we'll all be in these hot Tdi's in the near future, i know im looking for one as my landcruiser is killing me as a daily driver.
Ive been down the private reg route myself, the easy answer is take the plate off when youve decided to sell or you could miss a potential buyer.

Took me three weeks to put a plate on retention for 'er indoors car. It the last minute they decided they wanted it at their office for an inspection.
Good job I had sold it to a dealer, had to get the car back off him and insure it for a day - what a nightmare !! Dunk's right - get the plate on retention as soon as you've made up your mind,.......... |

received my previous plate through post yesterday that was quick, I only took the application for retention in on tuesday.
Hows this for a good toyota dealer, when I got all documents out to put everything together for selling noticed that when toyota did MOT they put model of my car as a celica instead of supra. You would think a toyota dealership would know there cars. Told dvla when switched number plate back but the new one received through still says celica on it, so one thing goes well another goes wrong. So trying to sort that out with VOSA, luckily there one near my house but they can't look at it til monday cus the manager had gone home. Other than that just wating for the log book. The TDI engines are really good my mate got a VW Bora TDI and that is pretty much the same engine as leon and not had no problems and it is pretty quick too. |
