Fuel Tank Protector
I've removed this from under the car tonight as it's starting to slightly bubble near where the fins are. It's easier to remove it than it is to sand and paint it on my back.
The inside has a few rusty bubbles aswell. I'm in two minds as to whether to replace it or not. Has anyone bought one recently? The part number appears to be 77641-14100 but knowing Toyota it'll be about a thousand pounds If it's too expensive I'll look into getting it blasted and repainted.

Be curious to know how much one costs.

I might have to give them a call or try and pop in tomorrow. I am slightly worried though. If its anything like the undertray it'll cost a fortune!

Along with all my seals on each side of the car I have just sanded, treated and painted mine.....all lying on my back, bloody filthy job.
To be honest the only way to get a really great finish on the fuel tank protector is to remove it as you have done or buy new and paint it in your chosen finish/colour. Would be interested in the cost of a new one. How easy was it to remove Kev?

Barney it was really easy to remove. Literally took 5 mins. There are 4 bolts that are on show, and another 2 that are behind the bumper. I removed the lower bumper holder/strip, and got a ratchet spanner on the go. I'll do a write up if you like, I'll also show you tonight
Right then, now for the price...£124.72 plus VAT, which at todays rate is £143.43 I also got the part numbers for the 6 bolts, which are: 90119-06762 @£0.62 plus VAT which is £0.71 As I have the Loyality card I'm entitled to 20% off, but the lady couldn't give me that much discount as she would be selling it at a loss, shame So she offered me 15% discount which meant Mr.T was making 1% on the sale. So I can get it for £106.01 plus VAT which is £121.91.

I think I'd still sooner clean and spray myself, and in Kev's case with his attention to detail it would probably come out better than new.
